Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) pipes—casing, tubing, and drill pipe—must perform flawlessly in extreme drilling conditions. Their reliability depends on a production chain that guarantees traceability, integrity, and compliance with API 5CT.

At Pipekom, we don’t just deliver OCTG—we provide full QA/QC evidence: mill test certificates (MTCs), NDT reports, hydrotest curves, and coating records. This makes our supplies ideal for procurement verification, factory acceptance tests (FATs), and tender submissions.

Here’s a detailed look at the process, as seen in our production video:

1. Incoming Material & Traceability

  • Heat-number verification on each billet.

  • PMI (Positive Material Identification) and chemical analysis confirm grade.

  • Mill certification ensures full provenance for audits.

2. Precision Machining & Coupling Fitment

  • Thread cutting (API & premium connections) on CNC lathes.

  • Coupling installation with torque-fit checks.

  • Thread-gauge inspection guarantees leak-free performance.

3. Protective Coatings & Cladding

  • External coatings such as HDG, FBE, or 3LPE are applied.

  • Dry film thickness (DFT) records archived for each batch.

  • Custom coatings available for sour service or offshore applications.

4. Surface Protection

  • Spray painting in controlled booths for uniform finish.

  • Thread protectors & end caps installed to avoid transport damage.

  • Anti-rust treatments ensure longevity before installation.

5. Inspection & Testing

  • 100% NDT: Ultrasonic & Eddy Current scans on all pipes.

  • Hydrostatic testing: every pipe pressurized and recorded.

  • Traceable archives: NDT reports, hydro curves, and videos stored for client access.

6. Packing & Documentation

  • Markings: standard, grade, heat number, size, date.

  • Packing options: hexagonal bundles, crates, or single cradles.

  • MTC & QA dossier delivered with shipment.

Why This Matters for Projects

  • Tender compliance: documentation boosts bid quality.

  • Operational safety: strict QA reduces downhole risks.

  • Transparency: procurement teams gain full visibility.

Pipekom bridges mills and energy projects across the Middle East, GCC, and Africa, ensuring OCTG supplies are not only produced to spec—but also fully documented and inspection-ready.
